Twenties & Turmoil

Hi.

Don’t go through turmoil alone. Click, explore, stay a while. I'll cook with you, read with you, vent with you and laugh with you. Hello, new friend.

Slurpable PB&J Smoothie

You can eat. Spoon it. Sip it. Slurp it.

Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m talking about PB&J. This timeless classic was not meant to be consumed in just sandwich form. Why else would the food gods bless us plebeians with such glorious notes of sweet fruit and salty peanuts? And no, not Jonathon Cheban, Food God©. The real ones, who also brought us things like cake in cup form and sweet, fried dough in the shape of a saucer. And you know what else they bestowed upon us while we’re talking about fried dough saucers? PB&J donuts.

It was a somber day, clouds blanketing the sky and rain soaking the bottom of my Solo leggings. I was told: you have celiacs. I can remember it like it was yesterday, wandering the aisles in melancholy as I scanned all the items I could no longer enjoy. That’s right, folks. Bread. And before you argue there are plenty of gluten-free & vegan breads out there, remember I’m just a girl in her twenties on a budget and that shit can be expensive. And it doesn’t even always taste good, but that’s not the point. The point is, PB&J can—and should—be consumed in all of its marvelous forms.

This recipe is meant to be spooned or sipped. Whatever consistency you desire. I like it #thiccc, but if you prefer it thin, by all means do not let my personal preference stop you.

Oh em gee, I’m talking about the viscosity of the smoothie. You’re so gross.

Use this:

Do This:

  1. Throw all ingredients in a blender and press the button.

  2. Stop and scrape, you know the drill. Only add more liquid if: you want it in a sippable consistency OR your blender is really having a tough time doing its job. You had one job.

  3. Pour out and top with what I told you to top it with. Or don’t. I’m not that bossy.
