NuGo Series: Cinnamon Raisin Pie In A Jar (Episode 1)

Say hello to vegan protein that tastes like pie but won’t crimp your healthy lifestyle.

Turn off the Netflix and tune in to a more rewarding series: The Nugo Series. Here, you will not only find yourself entertained by my relevant humor and slight sarcasm (patting myself on the back), you’ll also feed your sweet tooth and reach your protein and nutritional needs. It’s basically the gift that keeps on giving.

We all know that pie is typically reserved for the end of November, the time when we dress in our fanciest clothes and head on down to the…living room.

But what if I told you your breakfast could resemble the glorious notes of a cinnamon raisin pecan pie? Well, I am. That’s what I’m telling you. And aside from the fact that the flavors taste decadent, there’s nothing unhealthy about this jar of divinity. More importantly though, the work is already done for you. No need to blister up your ankles, standing over a kitchen counter for hours making pie crust. NuGo has done the hard work for us. And that’s what us millennials love most—doing the most and the least all at once.

NuGo cookies have 16 grams of protein per cookie.

So, the next time your doctor tells you your protein intake is lacking, do yourself a favor and grab a NuGo cookie. They come in 4 flavors: Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Chip, and Double Chocolate. If you want to educate yourself on the credentials of the NuGo Protein Cookie, I’ll link my post about that here. For the purposes of this recipe, I went with the Oatmeal Raisin. In my humble, expert opinion, the Oatmeal Raisin pairs perfectly with the cinnamon and pecan flavors that the smoothie carries. A match made in heaven and they didn’t even meet on Tinder.

Use This:

Do This:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender aside from the cookie and blend.

  2. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed. Only add more milk if your blender is really struggling. The less liquid, the thicker the consistency. I like mine #thiccccc.

  3. Crumble some of the cookie on the bottom of your jar and press it in like pie crust.

  4. Pour your smoothie over it and add the rest of your cookie crumbles on top.

  5. Eat it and watch your muscles grow you little protein machine.
