NuGo Series: Vegan Protein Bar & Cookies (Trailer)
* Cue Netflix Original Music *
Netflix is certainly a lifestyle, but your shows can wait. We have more important matters to discuss. There’s a new series in town and it’s called: NuGo. Here, you will be served the most premium recipes at your fingertips. Not only do they taste the part, they act the part too. All of the recipes to come will be vegan, gluten-free, and healthy enough to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert.
Before you jump into the series, I think a proper trailer is due.
Here’s what you need to know about NuGo. They offer a wide variety of gluten-free protein bars and cookies that taste unhealthy but won’t anger your doctor. I have been eating NuGo products for about 3 years now. I can honestly say that I have a NuGo cookie or bar every single day. That is literally not an exaggeration; I may or may not be an addict but I’m not willing to admit I have a problem yet.
My favorite line of NuGo bars are the Vegan NuGo Dark bars.
In the name of honesty, that’s the only line I will be covering because they’re the only kind I have eaten. I pride myself on my transparency and would never promote something I don’t eat myself. This particular line of NuGo bars comes in 6 delicious flavors. They range between 190-205 calories, 10g of protein, 7g of fat and 2g of fiber. Being that I am a creature of habit, I ate the Chocolate Chocolate Chip flavor everyday for almost 2 years before I decided to be bold and courageous and branch out to try the others. I’m incredibly brave, I know.
In addition to Chocolate Chocolate Chip, other flavors include Chocolate Pretzel, Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Coconut, Mocha Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter. My current favorite is the Chocolate Pretzel!
As if the NuGo Gods were listening to my prayers, they recently released a line of Protein Cookies too.
NuGo Nutrition is the first protein bar company to create a protein cookie and they’re one of few protein cookies that I can eat. The life of a celiac vegan is not easy at times. Luckily, NuGo Protein Cookies are both vegan and gluten-free. Each cookie contains 16g of protein (derived from pea protein), 10-12g of fiber, real dark chocolate chips, and are also Kosher Pareve, Non-GMO, and Soy/Dairy/Egg free. What truly sets them apart from their competitors is the fact that they do not contain any artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. That shit can mess you up. No one wants to be bloated in a crop top eating a cookie, am I right?
The flavors include Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate. My current favorite is the Double Chocolate. Pro-tip: microwave it for 10 seconds for an gooey-gooey, chocolatey experience.
If you like what you’re seeing, then let me tease you with what’s to come.
I have a whole slew of recipes that incorporate NuGo products in order to make healthy, delicious snacks, desserts, and meals without breaking the bank, your back from slaving over a hot stove, or your health. Intrigued? Skip to Episode 1 here.
