Chocolate Protein Balls
BALLIN’ on a budget with Whole Foods tastebuds. Anyone else feel me? Trying to be trendy and healthy is a pricey hobby. Companies these days have the audacity to charge astronomical prices for the simplest snacks. Don’t they know it’s rough out there, fam?
Now, instead of sitting here and complaining about it, I decided to get off of my millennial high horse—you know, the horse that lets me complain but not do anything about it—and recreated this fad snack trend with ingredients I already had in my cabinet.

These Chocolate Protein Balls have 4 ingredients (minus toppings) and taste like a party in your mouth. Blend ‘em. Freeze ‘em. Eat ‘em. Simple as that. Ok, now go make them.
What’s In The Balls?
650 grams Pitted Medjool Dates (soak for 10 min in warm water if they’re not soft)
1 scoop Chocolate Protein Powder (I used Terra Origin)
1/4 cup Almonds
2 Tbs Chocolate Nut Butter (I used Bon Butter’s Chocolate Pecan Butter— can sub for any nut butter)
Toppings: Unsweetened Coconut Shreds + Cacao Nibs (I used Navita’s Organics)
How Do I Make The Balls?
Pulse all ingredients in a food processor or blender (I use a Ninja!)
After pulsing a few times, stop to scrape down the sides + blend until it forms a “dough”
Use a tablespoon to spoon out your dough and roll into balls
Sprinkle coconut shreds + cacao nibs on a plate and roll your balls until it’s fully coated
